On Nov. 12, 2021, APAC successfully sent out some Edge Protection Stair Clamps to one of our clients in Australia.
APAC Stair clamps are used on staircases, in conjunction with posts and adjustable ledgers or APAC’s mesh barriers, to provide the temporary edge protection required for staircases. Fully adjustable to suit a range of different stair sizes, the APAC Stair Clamps provide a socket solution for use with precast or cast-in-place stairs.
APAC Stair clamps can be rotated by clamping at the waist to accommodate a range of stair angles and slab depths. When you use stair clamps on stairs you usually need to use them in pairs, one on each side. Whereas APAC stair clamps can be used on both the left and right side of the stairs, when using them you simply remove the base and turn it one way to install them then you can use our stair clamps on stairs in the opposite direction.
With APAC Stair Clamps, the process of drilling holes in the staircase can be eliminated when setting up edge protection. APAC Stair Clamps can be swivelled and rotated and can be fitted to the stair stringers in a few simple steps without damaging the stair surface.
Once you have fitted the APAC stair clamps to the stair stringer you can attach the safety posts to the stair clamps. The sockets on the stair clamps we have pre-drilled and you can lock the safety posts with spring pins/bolts and nuts. If you are using APAC safety posts we have integrated a spring pin into the posts, so when you install the posts you simply insert the posts into the stair clamps and they are locked in place, no additional pin is required.
One you have set up the safety post, you can clamp the rails to the posts, if you use APAC Safety Post, we have integrated the latches into the posts, with our adjustable ledgers, you can easily finish a edge fall guardrail systems. Of cause you can also use mesh barriers to replace the adjustable ledgers for a better protection. More details you can check our Stair Edge Protection Solutions here.
